How to Inertial Training ? Weights with TestYou GYRO

TestYou GYRO is an inert device, thanks to which we can make eccentric training of every part of body. While exercising we generate resistance only by power of our muscles, which makes training independent from power of gravity.

Inert exercises are a perfect choice in power as well as in functional training.

Main advantages of exercising with TestYou GYRO in power training are:

  • Enhancing power and muscle mass in short time
  • Increase of muscle power without big metabolic burden
  • Better mobility in joints
  • Enhancing explosive strength and sport performance

Inert training with TestYou GYRO is a gradual process. Power which is used to put device into movement in concentric phase is lower than power which “comes back” to athlete – which is a power in eccentric phase. It prevents muscle strains and other possible injuries while moving.

In an eccentric exercise power generated in muscle is maximal, that’s why the main effect of eccentric training is power growth. A typical person is 30-40% more powerful in eccentric phase than in concentric one. It means, that if we can make a squat with 100kg load, we should be able to put down at least 130kg load in a controlled way.

Inert training positively affect muscle functionality – enhance their power, speed and contraction dynamics. Training based on a concentric phase causes greater  hypertrophy than a traditional one.

What is more, we should mind that TestYou GYRO is a safe device, thanks to which we can make eccentric training without necessary help of coach. Adding to your training inert exercises is a stimulation for organism to enhance collagen synthesis and reconstruction of tissues in tendons. Thanks to it we will take care of our body and lower risk of having an injury.

Split your brain in half!

Lateralization. Right is left and left is right.

Imagine you have only half of your brain. Is it a lot or a little? What are you able to do? Quite a lot! Brain is an amazing organ, it’s abilities keep surprising us. One thing is especially interesting – lateralization. It means, that left hemisphere controls the right side of body, and right hemisphere – left one. What do you think, which of your hemispheres is stronger?

Why do I need strong hemispheres?

Strong hemispheres is nothing else but fast and coordinated working. Each life domain which requires movement and processing information needs an effective action of both hemispheres. Thanks to this you will be able to see the most important information at work, school or on the pitch is the speed of light and correctly react for them.

How to train hemispheres?

Psychomotor training is an innovative method of brain exercise. It bases on approach which combines what happens in your head with movement and physical activity. Thanks to psychomotorics we are able to diagnose which hemisphere is a dominant one and which requires an additional training. It’s a huge step forward in developing potential of human brain!

Psychomotorics – new dimension of training.

Psychomotor training is a perfect solution for people willing to perform more effectively at work, school or in sport. Get with the times – train your brain and body. Give yourself chance to be the best!

New alternative for biofeedback!

Psychomotorics – new dimension of training

Biofeedback Is currently a popular method of concentration training.  However is it an effective and children friendly tool? Many say that not and idea of biofeedback is just a temporary fashion. The most valuable alternative which have lately emerged is psychomotor training. Take a moment to choose the best activity for your child!

Psychomotor training – children friendly method

Psychomotor training is a combination of brain and body training. Those activities affect development of memory, concentration or reaction time. Additional physical activity is an answer for natural need of children. Each young person requires movement and cognitive processes are inseparably connected with it. Biofeedback doesn’t take it into account and sedentary activities take place in office. Consequently, psychomotor training is a method much better adjusted to children.

Psychomotor training better than therapy

Psychomotor training is an unique method of enhancing children’s development. Contrary to biofeedback it is not perceived as a therapy. It doesn’t stigmatize children as mentally impaired but supports their development. Trainings are conducted in friendly and adjusted conditions, not by the screen of computer. Psychomotor training engages children in exercises and is highly enjoyable.

New technology in work with children

Psychomotorics bases on using modern technology. Thanks to it we are able to diagnose potential of children and constantly monitor progress during the training. What is more, equipment and exercises are very attractive and encourage further involvement in activities.

It is not only effective, but also attractive and comprehensively developing. Do not become a fashion victim and give your child the best option. Choose psychomotor training!

Find your child’s talent!

Is your child talented…?

Fact if your child is talented is usually defined at early stage of it’s life. It is especially important because talent should be developed from young age so it could benefit in future. A big role in talent identification plays school. Does your child paint beautifully? Maybe recites poems or brilliantly sings? If not, is it just an ordinary child?

Psychomotorics – new dimension in talent identification

Psychomotor training is the newest trend in effective support of children development. Despite fact, that we live in times of constant technological progress and we know human brain better and better, schools keep working in out-of-date system. Teachers do not have professional knowledge and access to modern equipment, so they could identify talent. Do not let missing your child’s talent by someone’s incompetence!

Who trains brain?

Psychomotor training affects development of brain. Making this type of exercises is very important among children, because their brain is on stage of constant shaping and may be easily modificated. Professional  diagnosis and well planned training are able to develop those skills, which are very important in professions like manager, lawyer, pilot or doctor.

Psychomotorics – how to find “hidden talent”?

Psychomotor training is a wide influence on child’s in-born skills. Thanks to diagnosis we are able to discover those parts of mind, in which there is the biggest potential and develop it by adequate training. Perhaps your child has talent to great concentration, it can react very fast or perfectly process information? It’s potential may be hidden somewhere, where other people wouldn’t event think to search.

…Every child is talented!

Psychomotorics is a modern approach to talent issue. Children are not treated in black and white way. Every person is different and has different in-born skills. Thanks to new technology we are able to discover hidden talents. Give your child chance to be the best!

Memory training

Memory training consists on remembering few elements presented on semaphores, making a particular calculation and choosing the correct answer by covering semaphore. For example, there are presented numbers on three semaphores. Athlete has to remember them and add up during the exercise. At the end of exercise he chooses one of three semaphores which shows a correct answer.

It is recommended to implement, between covering semaphores, sport specific tasks like passing or throwing the ball. It will make the exercise more difficult but also more effective.

Memory exercises are used in short-term and working memory training. What is more, athlete learns   good decision making with time pressure, basing on previously seen information.

While creating a Memory exercise we can change it’s difficulty level using following modifications:

  • Disturbing sounds – using additional sounds will influence difficulty of remembering presented symbols,
  • Calculation change – we can implement various calculations like adding up,
  • Symbols – instead numbers, we can use other abstract symbols which make task more difficult,
  • Colours – by using different colours we can indicate which numbers are positive (green) and which negative (red).

Memory exercises:

Easy – Nr: 85, 105, 106

Medium – Nr:  98, 107, 108

Difficult – Nr:  109, 110, 111

Testing in sports

Modern testing

Testing is a fundamental thing in sports. Every match, tournament or training are different ways of testing athlete’s skills. We live in times where almost all the things are measurable and changing behaviors into numbers should be an integral method of objective and professional diagnosis.

Why we should test more often

Creating a big data base brings us closer to knowledge about a real score of an athlete. A single measure may show us wrong result and we want to know true abilities which are repeatable.

What’s important in sport testing

We often see situation when a favorite loses at the biggest tournament. It seems that athlete is perfectly prepared but his scores are way below expectations. It’s called choking. The pressure and importance of tournament are to big and in consequence athlete is not able to give his best. One of ways to deal with it is testing at the early stage of career. Player has to be prepared to perform at highest possible level. It is also a good way to mobilize athletes. If you’re moving to professional sport, training should be hard and taken seriously. Testing will help to achieve good mental attitude of players.

How to test athletes?

We already know that we should do it often. But often doesn’t mean anyhow. We should try to change conditions, put in testing sessions things that may happen in real competition. That’s a real problem for athletes to get used to small changes between tournaments like temperature, light or wind.

We can’t forget about pressure. Let’s set some additional rivalization between players, check their attitude in various sessions. At this point lets regard age of athletes. Don’t forget that working with children requires different methods.

Testing advantages

Proper and regular testing will be rewarding for both coaches and athletes. We will get data to compare our players and monitor their progress. We will be able to observe them in different situations and see how they react. When it comes to athletes one of the most important things is getting used to pressure and competition. Also developing a right attitude towards training will benefit in future career.

Return training

Return training is based on covering semaphores in two positions. In the simplest version of exercise, athlete stands opposite a single semaphore, remembers presented symbol and covers the semaphore, then he turns around and searches for remembered symbol among other semaphores.

The aim of return exercises is practicing wide and narrow attention.  At the beginning,  athlete focuses on one particular element (narrow attention) and then makes overview of the field (wide attention). It is a perfect exercise for team sport athletes, where effective switching between different types of attention is a vital element of competition.

According to our training goals, we can change return exercises, so they would adjust athlete’s skills or different sport competitions.

Elements which may be manipulated:

  • Number of semaphores in the sequence – by adding semaphores in first sequence, we enhance difficulty of exercise. Athlete must remember more symbols and their order and in the same time perform a motor task (covering semaphores). In this exercise we train not only attention but also short-time memory,
  • Semaphores setting – semaphores may be arbitrarily set in space, so we could grade difficulty of wide attention exercise,
  • Distracting sounds – attention of athlete may be easily disturbed. Use diffusing sounds to become insensitive for distractors.
  • Daltonic background – using daltonic background makes finding a good symbol much more difficult and encourages athlete to focus more on the exercise.
  • Exposition time – we can manipulate with exposition time of symbols on semaphores. Thanks to it athlete will be forced to make decision with time pressure. He can also perform freely without bothering about time.

By using mentioned methods, we can implement various exercises, which help athletes to constantly develop their skills.

Return exercises :

Instructional – Nr: 62, 102, 103,

Easy – Nr: 64, 26, 34,

Medium – Nr: 101,  65, 27

Difficult – Nr: 73, 74, 104
